About this tool

A CSV opened in a text editor is a wall of commas; opened in a full spreadsheet app, it's more program than the edit deserves. This is the middle ground — a lightweight editable grid with the two checks that catch most CSV data-quality problems: a required field left empty, and a key column that should be unique but isn't.

How to use it

  1. Upload a CSV, or start from a blank grid.
  2. Edit any cell directly, and add or remove rows and columns as needed.
  3. Mark which columns are required and, optionally, which one should hold unique values.
  4. Press Validate to see every violation with its exact row, then export the corrected CSV.

Examples

Catching a duplicate ID

A customer list with "id" marked as the unique column
Every row sharing a duplicated ID value is listed, so the collision can be fixed before the file is used downstream.

Common problems

A row I know is missing data doesn't get flagged.
Only columns explicitly checked as "required" are validated for emptiness — check the column's box first.
