Visual Label Designer

Design a shipping or product label with text, barcodes, a logo and boxes, and export it as ZPL.

Properties

Select an element on the canvas, or add a new one above.

Everything runs in your browser — the label, and any logo you upload, never leave your device.

About this tool

Most label software is either a full desktop application (BarTender, NiceLabel) or a raw text editor for hand-writing ZPL commands. This sits between them: a visual canvas for placing text, barcodes, a logo and lines, that generates real ZPL underneath — so what you see maps directly to what a Zebra printer will produce.

How to use it

  1. Pick a label size (a preset or custom width/height in millimetres) and the printer's DPI — 203 is the most common for desktop label printers, 300 and 600 for higher-resolution or industrial ones.
  2. Add elements with the buttons above the canvas, then drag them into place. Click an element to edit its exact position, size, text or barcode data in the panel on the right.
  3. Switch to "ZPL Preview" to see the label rendered by the same offline engine used elsewhere on this site — this is what will actually print, at this exact size.
  4. Copy or download the ZPL code, or save the whole design as a JSON template you can reopen and keep editing later.

Examples

A placeholder for bulk generation

A text element with the content "{{customer_name}}"
Saved as a template, this placeholder is what the Bulk Label Generator fills in from a spreadsheet column, one label per row.

Common problems

My logo shows on the canvas but not in the ZPL Preview tab.
This is expected in the current version — the logo is embedded in the exported ZPL correctly (as a ^GF graphic field) and will print, but the offline preview renderer doesn't decode that command back into an image yet. Trust the canvas for the logo's position and size.
I want to reuse this design for a batch of products.
Type a {{placeholder}} (any name you like) into a text or barcode field instead of a fixed value, save the template, and open it in the Bulk Label Generator — it'll list every placeholder found and let you map each one to a spreadsheet column.
